Albuquerque

Today we took things slow, and then piled into the car to check out Old Town Albuquerque.






After walking around a bit, and having lunch, we went to a science musuem.














By the time that was done it was, of course, raining, again, so we came back to the camp site.

Tonight we're back our bags for the Grand Canyon! Tomorrow we set off and get to spend three nights in a hotel.. with ac.. and real beds!

Santa Fe

Today we travelled north to the states capitol. Grammy and Grandpa were confused at first because the town has apparently grown a lot in the past 40 years. Eventually, though, we found the part of town that they remembered, and we walked around and did some shopping.

A nice woman near us at some point told us that there would be music in the plaza for their Folk Art Festival. So we went up there and listened to the music. It rained like crazy yet again, but it was on and off.








We even had the girls and grammy dancing.. click on the video here to see..

It was a fun day, and we were glad to finally walk around a city.

Carlsbad Caverns

Today we drove down to White's City, NM where the Carlsbad Caverns are located. It's a national park with the largest cave in the western hemisphere. It really is massive. It's 750 feet underground, and it's a mile trail down to the bottom and then a mile around the inside. They have an elevator that takes 56 seconds to go up or down. Pretty much we just walked around going ooo and ahhh.





















We stayed to watch all of the bats fly out at 7:30, but there was a thunder storm so it was cancelled and the warden made us leave.

We went to Dennys for dinner, and it was raining so much that the towns were flooding.


It took us until 3am to get back here to the camper. (for those of you paying attention that's 5am eastern time). We were crazy tired and all crashed. :)
